So for some reason Lynn and I decided the kitchen counters, appliances, and some cabinets MUST be replaced before the Fairbanks arrive for their extended visit and the wedding so last week it started. There are moments I look at Lynn and wonder why I picked someone who loves to rip buildings apart and then rebuild them- I couldn't have choosen a quiet accountant or possibly a safe businessman? Okay, I admit I like the challange too of fixing the house up after we destroy it. I can't wait- I'm getting an under the counter ice maker that makes the clear ice- no more trips to the grocery store to buy "store bought ice" cause I won't use the ice maker ice- does that make me sound a little strang cause I have the feeling it does (Debbie and Marcia keep your comments to yourself!). I've been promised by my contractor- did I tell you that I have an intimate relationship with him so I know he would never lie to me- that it will be done in two weeks, but I'll allow for issues and give him three. I'll keep you posted...

How could I let a comment like you don't do ice maker ice go ..... ARE YOU CRAZY or just nerotic!!! Where do you think they get the ice in the store from - a bigger ice maker which is probably of questionable clean!! Well at least I can be the dramatic one and you can just be the crazy one!! Lindsey's blog made my head spin and a little jealous all at once. I think my life is pretty boring after reading about what she is doing and that made me wonder if I am old. I quickly got rid of that idea and decided I am young enough to remember a carefree single life. Good Luck with the kitchen - I am sure it will be gorgeous and worth the headache.
The granite looks so good! I can't wait to see the finished product! You are a little crazy...but I love when I am there you always have the best ice! I know it sounds crazy to others but the "store bought ice" is the best I have been craving ice...you know the little pellet kind...we always got it at smith's when we were little! I am dying to find a large cup of it here! I wish that was a sign of labor...but i have been craving it all month so i doubt it! Keep us posted on the kitchen!
intimate???
Oh my Gosh!!! I can't believe all you've done and all you are doing!! I want pictures!! I have always admired your taste...maybe it's the memory of your red sofas that led me to my decision?! You may think the ice maker thing sounds crazy, but I was just sitting here thinking that I wished I had thought of it. You are crazy...but it just endears me to you! We would LOVE to see you guys...maybe we can drive to Louiville!?
Hey Suz - I can't believe how crazy you are - you and my mom both, seriously! You guys are like two peas in a pod, its kinda funny. Anyway, have fun with the fix it ups. Lindsey's blog was hilarious - I think we all try to live vicariously through her. She is totally entertaining. She blocked it now though so no more reading it "Access Denied". LOL - guess thats what you have to do when you have such an exciting life. anyway - have fun remodling! - Ash
by the way - sorry for the deleted one - my computer keeps messing up.
I was looking through the customizing thing and somehow blocked it, I wasn't sure what i was doing! Anyways, I think you are a little crazy for remodeling the kitchen, but it's going to be so cool when it's done! I need you to get on my blog and update all the people who blog now, I can't figure out how to do it...but i did figure out how to post pictures, so i'll be able to start adding them! Anyways, love you lots...sorry i didn't text you back, I fell asleep for a while!
Did you know that the right under the counter ice maker or fridge can cool the granite to the perfect pastry making temperature. I tried so hard in both houses to get my parents to put in the under the counter freezer, but apparently my mom doesn't even remember. That shows how much my wish impacted her. I'll have to come to your house to make pastries, I guess.
I loved Diane's red sofa and I am glad that you inspired her now you can inspire me to get out of the blaaaa look like everything beige. I admire your new kitchen with GRANITE COUNTERS. I will be getting brave enough to do this if we are going to stay here.
