So....those of you who knows us very well know that my husband Lynn has issues with motercycles and ATVs. Why just last year he about killed himself by rolling- yes rolling- a very large ATV over himself while trying to ride up the side of the Y mountain in Provo. This was just the last in a series (I can say series because there were more than three incidents) of accidents he has had while riding motorized vehicles too fast and recklessly. We had a long talk after the accident last year and he agreed that he probably shouldn't ride them because he likes to go fast, very fast. Imagine my surprise when I got into the office on Tuesday after being gone for over a week to find a brochure for Vespas on my desk. I thought maybe Marcia had been looking at them, but when I asked her she told me that no, Lynn was looking at them. So I asked him and he told me he had stopped at the dealership and had looked but not much else. Even more to my surprise I found out Thursday that he and Lindsey were going to the dealership to pick out colors. So, today at 6PM the doorbell rang and when I answered it there was a nice man with a big grin on his face saying "Here are your Vespas!" The kids are thrilled and even with the many rules- no riding out of our development, always wear a helmet, no riding at night, no speeding and so on. They are pretty fun to ride and I somehow feel very European zipping around the block on it!!

I love it! Devon would be so jealous! He always talks about getting one to drive to work, but I keep telling him NO WAY! It does look like a lot of fun, though!
Devon isn't the only jealous one. I've always thought that Provo is the perfect place for a Vespa (I hope my mom reads this comment). I might have to make a special trip to see you (and your Vespas...mainly the Vespas).
They are so much fun! I must admit I was a little bit scared at first but they are so much fun! I totally think Jon should get one to ride on to work! Sorry Kimberly, I agree with Devon! My dad is the coolest!
Yes I read Michael's comment. He has been trying to convince us that he NEEDS a Vespa. Thanks Lynn! Looks like fun...could you see me riding the hills and country roads of Tennessee on one? Bob is thinking more along the lines of a John Deer lawn mower!
You think that Lynn has lost it well consider Wendall who has talked of saving gas and space and riding something like a Vespa. Maybe starting with a skate board. Here is a man of 79 yrs and thinking like a teenager and not having any balance at all. I would have to consider putting training wheels on his with EXTENDED TRAINING WHEELS. I love your adventures and we all know how CRAZY you are thats why we love you.
Susie- you look awesome on the Vespa!! that is something Matt would definately do without really talking to me!
You know,
When I saw those things I was pretty sure that Chelsea was going to kill herself on one of them. She lived through the last visit. But you can understand why I'd be nervous about her on a motorized bike when such dangerous items such as a paint can in the hallway have done her in.
What a hoot you and Lynn are. I think that Wendall and I should get us one. Can't you see us on a Vespa with goggles and helmets. Oh yes, for us knee pads and the works -JUST IN CASE WE FALL. I love the way you live life to the fullest. Enjoy the moments as they come. Good luck with the wedding and give the kids a big hug from Grandma Hand.
